Panelist Bios

Lisa Goldman

Lisa K. Goldman is the City Manager for the City of Burlingame, a position she’s held since December 2012. Lisa is the fourth City Manager in Burlingame’s history and the first woman to hold the position. Prior to joining the City of Burlingame, Lisa worked for the City of Alameda for just under six years, serving as the Deputy City Manager, the Acting City Manager, and the Assistant City Manager.


Lisa is the former Intergovernmental Relations Manager for the City of Fremont and began her career in local government as an Administrative Intern for her hometown, the City of Palos Verdes Estates. Lisa also spent time on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., as a Legislative Assistant for Representative Henry A. Waxman.


Lisa is a member of the International City/County Management Association, the California City Management Foundation, the League of Women in Government, and Women Leading Government. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and her Master of Public Policy from U.C. Berkeley’s Graduate School of Public Policy. In her spare time, she is a Masters swimmer who competes in open water races.

Georgette Naylor


Georgette Naylor has been with the Burlingame/SFO Chamber of Commerce for 33 years, 28 of those as President/CEO.


She has served the business community through enormous change and has effectively functioned as a liaison between government and business interests.


Georgette has lead the Chamber to growth and created Burlingame's largest street events, the Fresh Market and the Burlingame On the Avenue festival, bringing visitors to the city to fuel business success and growth.

Raziel Ungar


Raziel was born and raised in Burlingame and graduated from Burlingame High School. 


Raziel contributes to many community events throughout the year, has served on the board of several local foundations, and supports many local charities and nonprofits including BCE and the BCE Endowment Fund. 


In his spare time, Raziel enjoys camping, backpacking, relaxing with his family and Goldendoodle puppy, and eating an occasional chocolate pizza from Copenhagen Bakery on Burlingame Avenue.

Raziel believes the Peninsula is one of the best places to call home. He has been the #1 Realtor in Burlingame each year since 2014 and is ranked in the Top 5 Realtors in San Mateo County.

Howard Wettan


Howard Wettan is a partner in the Technology Transactions Practice within the White & Case's Mergers & Acquisitions Group. He represents clients in a variety of intellectual property and technology-related transactional matters in industries such as consumer electronics, payments and other financial services, software, energy, health care, and hospitality. Howard assists clients with patent license and joint development agreements, technology transfer agreements, payment processing agreements, trademark license agreements, supply and distribution agreements, transition services agreements, and outsourcing agreements. He also advises on a variety of corporate matters involving intellectual property collateral in secured financings, disclosures in public offerings, and due diligence in mergers and acquisitions.  


He also serves as the Chair of Burlingame’s Traffic Safety and Parking Commission.

John Hutar


In March 1997, Hutar moved to the Bay Area from Chicago to become the VP/GM of the Hotel Nikko San Francisco.  While at Hotel Nikko, he was a Board Member of the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau, S. F. Chamber of Commerce, and the Hotel Council of San Francisco where he served as president from 2002-2004.  Hutar served as Honorary Consul for the Republic of Slovenia serving the State of California from 2001-2006.  Recognizing his many industry accomplishments, in 2006, the Hotel Council of San Francisco honored him with their coveted “Lifetime Achievement Award”.

Hutar’s career path then took him to the world of gaming with MGM Mirage, returning to the Bay as General Manager of the Sofitel in Redwood Shores, the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco and Dinah’s Garden Hotel in Palo Alto.  During his tenure as GM of the Sofitel and Dinah’s Garden Hotel, Hutar joined the Board of the San Mateo County/Silicon Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau where he served as chair in 2015.  In May 2019, Hutar took on the duties of President and CEO of the Bureau.

Hutar is passionate about all things music and loves exploring the Bay Area’s rich food scene.  He and his wife Lisa have three adult children and reside in Burlingame, CA. 

Lisa Lillelund


Lisa Lillelund manages the commercial activities for Proterra Powered, which brings Proterra’s proven electric vehicle technology used in the Proterra transit buses to power other types of vehicles through partnerships with vehicle manufacturers. Proterra is the EV technology selected for the Thomas Built Buses electric school buses and the Van Hool coaches.  


Prior to Proterra, Lisa was the Founder and President of Mango Networks, an Environmental Sustainability company, advising clients ranging from cities, resorts, business parks, and schools. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, her Master’s degree in International Business from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and an Executive MBA in Sustainable Management from the Presidio Graduate School.

The Burlingame Community Education Foundation (BCE) Endowment Council is excited to announce the second in a three-part speaker series for the Burlingame community. The BCE endowment is essential to protecting our investments in educational excellence and ensuring Burlingame remains a desirable neighborhood. 


Each event of the BCE Endowment Speaker Series will have a Zoom panel format featuring various leaders from our community to talk about different aspects of Burlingame’s future and what they are doing to keep Burlingame great, just as the BCE Endowment is committed to Burlingame schools.
